We establish an adjunction between infinity-categories and double infinity-categories, where the left adjoint is the span category construction, viewed as a functor on double infinity-categories. Using this adjunction, we obtain new proofs of the equivalences between different models of algebraic 𝐾-theory, given by the Q-, the S-, the cobordism model, and the squares construction
