 Workshop: Gauge theory and its application to geometry and low-dimensional topology

Aims and Scope

The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers in gauge theory and mathematicians applying gauge theoretic methods in geometry and low-dimensional topology. The workshop will take place at the University of Regensburg in the week 17-21 July 2023. There will be two lecture courses and several scientific talks, furthermore, if time permits some shorter presentations.

Registration, Housing, Proposal of talk, Limited support

To register, please visit the following webpage: Registration page.

Partial funding: We have limited means to support participants of the conference. If you are interested in support, please apply as soon as possible. The deadline for applying is 24 May, and we will decide shortly afterwards.

Proposal of talk: If time permits we'll devote some time slots for presentation of short talks by participants. If you are interested, please indicate so on the registration page no later than 24 May.

Help with accomodation: During the week of our conference, there are some large events in Regensburg, which makes the availability of hotel rooms tight. We currently have reserved some hotel rooms, if you are interested, please register as soon as possible, (a final deadline will be published soon, we have to investigate with the hotels.)

Practical Information

  • City of Regensburg: Regensburg is a Unesco World Heritage site that is famous for its well preserved medieval city center, the famous stone bridge and its beautiful Gothic cathedral. Further information can be found here.
  • Access to the venue: One can reach the University by following the instructions here. We also recommend the following collection of maps, in particular the Detailed map of the campus; here search for the building labeled MATH. The conference will take place in the lecture hall M311 in this building, which is in the top floor.
  • Internet: Access to eduroam is available throughout the Mathematics Building. We also have an open Wireless LAN (BayernWlan) on campus.

  • This workshop is funded by the Kepler-Forschungs-Zentrum Mathematik (KFZM) in Regensburg. This institute is named after the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler, who owned a house in Regensburg which is now the Kepler museum.
